This Privacy Notice explains our practices when we determine how and why personal information is processed. It also describes privacy choices and rights that may apply depending on where you live.

1. About This Notice

Science Retail Inc. d/b/a Science On Call ("Science On Call," "we," "us," or "our") provides restaurant technology support and related services. This Notice applies to personal information we collect through scienceoncall.com, our customer-facing services and portals, support interactions, business communications, and other interactions where this Notice is provided or referenced.

This Notice does not apply to information that is not personal information under applicable law. It also does not replace a customer’s own privacy notice when we process information solely on that customer’s behalf.

2. Our Role When Handling Information

We may handle personal information in two different roles:

•      For our own business activities, such as operating our website, managing customer relationships, billing, and securing our services, Science On Call determines the purposes and means of processing.

•      When a customer provides or directs us to access personal information so that we can deliver contracted support services, we generally process that information on the customer’s behalf and subject to our agreement with that customer.

If your request concerns information controlled by one of our customers, we may direct you to that customer or assist the customer in responding, as appropriate.

3. Personal Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. We may collect the following categories:

Identifiers and contact information. Name, business email address, telephone number, mailing address, account identifier, IP address, and similar identifiers.

Customer and account information. Employer or business affiliation, location or restaurant information, account permissions, service preferences, and relationship records.

Support and communications content. Support tickets, call or message content, attachments, troubleshooting information, feedback, and correspondence with us.

Commercial and service records. Services requested or received, subscription or contract information, billing status, transaction metadata, and customer history.

Internet, device, and activity information. Browser and device information, log data, pages viewed, referral information, timestamps, session information, and interactions with our website or portals.

Professional information. Job title, role, employer, work contact details, and information relevant to a business relationship or job application.

Sensitive personal information. Account credentials or message contents only when needed to provide requested services, secure access, or address a support issue. Please do not send sensitive information that is not necessary for your request.

We do not seek to collect highly sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for a specific service, legal obligation, security purpose, or support request. Payment card details, when required, are handled by payment service providers; we do not intend to store complete payment card numbers in our own systems.

4. Sources of Personal Information

We may collect personal information from:

•      You, when you contact us, use our website or services, request support, submit a form, or communicate with us.

•      Our customers and business partners, including when they authorize us to support their personnel, locations, or technology environment.

•      Your employer or organization, when it creates or manages your access or provides business contact information.

•      Service providers that support hosting, communications, authentication, billing, analytics, security, and business operations.

•      Automatically collected website, portal, device, and log information.

•      Publicly available sources and information you choose to make public.

5. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

•      Provide, administer, maintain, and support our services.

•      Authenticate users, manage accounts and permissions, and support customer portals.

•      Respond to support requests, investigate issues, and communicate about service delivery.

•      Manage customer, vendor, partner, and prospective-customer relationships.

•      Process billing, payments, renewals, and related business records.

•      Operate, measure, troubleshoot, and improve our website, services, and support processes.

•      Protect accounts, systems, customers, and personnel; prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents; and enforce our agreements.

•      Comply with law, legal process, contractual obligations, and recordkeeping requirements.

•      Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and conduct corporate transactions.

We may combine information collected through different interactions when permitted by law and reasonably necessary for these purposes.

6. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients for legitimate business purposes:

Service providers and contractors. Providers supporting infrastructure, communications, authentication, customer support, billing, analytics, productivity, legal, accounting, and security services. They may process information only to provide services to us and subject to applicable restrictions.

Customers and authorized users. A customer organization and its authorized users when the information relates to that customer’s account, locations, personnel, requests, or services.

Business partners. Partners involved in providing a requested service or resolving an issue, when disclosure is necessary and permitted by our agreements.

Authorities and legal recipients. Government authorities, regulators, courts, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

Corporate transaction participants. Advisers and counterparties in connection with financing, diligence, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

At your direction. Other parties when you ask us to disclose information or provide consent.

We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing merely because they provide a service to us.

7. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

Our commitment: Science On Call does not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by California law.

Because we do not engage in these practices, we do not currently provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link. If our practices change, we will update this Notice and provide any choices required by law.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, including providing services, maintaining business and security records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal, accounting, tax, and contractual obligations.

Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the context in which it was collected, customer instructions, operational needs, sensitivity, risk, and applicable requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify, or securely dispose of it.

9. Security

Science On Call maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include access controls, authentication, encryption where appropriate, confidentiality obligations, monitoring, and incident-response practices.

No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting credentials associated with your account and for notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or misuse.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website and customer-facing services may use cookies, local storage, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to enable core functionality, maintain sessions, remember preferences, protect security, understand performance, and measure use. You can manage many cookies through browser settings, although disabling them may affect functionality.

We do not use these technologies to sell personal information or for cross-context behavioral advertising. Browser-based "Do Not Track" signals are not governed by a uniform standard; where required, we recognize legally valid privacy preference signals for practices to which they apply.

11. Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have the right to:

•      Know whether we process your personal information and request access to it.

•      Request details about the categories, sources, purposes, and recipients of personal information.

•      Request correction of inaccurate personal information.

•      Exercise your rights without unlawful discrimination or retaliation.

These rights are not absolute. We may deny or limit a request when permitted by law, including when we cannot verify the request, must retain information, need it for security or fraud prevention, or process it solely on behalf of a customer.
